Today in class we talked about representation in media, but more specifically in music videos. The main topic of discussion was how women are represented in music videos. With controversial artist such as Miley Cyrus trying to create a reaction by creating exhibitionist music videos such as 'Wrecking Ball', see below:

My theory is that now music videos contribute to chart positions record labels put a great deal of pressure on female artists to be controversial in music videos to get views and push their songs up the charts.
